‘No idea’: Fabrizio Romano says he’s baffled after hearing rumour about £27m Arsenal player

Indeed, there’s still plenty of speculation around the world’s best players at the moment, and one player who has been at the centre of a few whispers this week is William Saliba.

There have been murmurs that Saliba is a target for PSG, but writing on The Daily Briefing, Fabrizio Romano has quashed those rumours.

The journalist says that while Saliba is a player who is appreciated across Europe, he has no idea where these stories about PSG potentially making a move are coming from.

Fabrizio Romano baffled by William Saliba stories
The journalist spoke about these rumours regarding the £27m man.

“Although William Saliba will always be appreciated because of his immense talent, there’s nothing in a rumour that Paris Saint-Germain could make a big offer for his services at this stage, to be fair,” Romano wrote.

“There has been no approach from PSG, no proposal, no talks.

“Saliba is a crucial player for Arsenal so I don’t think there could be anything for Saliba to even consider soon.

“He’s very happy at Arsenal and there’s nothing ongoing with any club – no idea where these PSG stories are coming from.”

William Saliba is so important for Arsenal
William Saliba isn’t a player Arsenal can afford to sell anytime soon.

“If you were City, Odegaard wouldn’t be the first player I would take out of Arsenal’s team. I would pick Rice or Saliba. I don’t know which one, but I would take Rice or Saliba out of the team before I picked Odegaard,” Neville said.

Arsenal will have vultures circling around their star players in the coming months and years, but Saliba is the one player the Gunners need to keep hold of at all costs.
