Peter Crouch gives three-word response to what Trent Alexander-Arnold has just said publicly about his career

With another international break in progress, Liverpool players have been settling in to their country’s camps.

The Reds have 16 players away with senior international teams over the next week and will be hoping that all return to base fit and healthy.

There are concerns over Alexis Mac Allister who has not been training with Argentina ahead of their World Cup qualifiers this week.

Otherwise, with games still yet to be played, there have been no further injury issues to report for Liverpool.

One interesting game for Reds supporters to keep an eye on over the coming days will be England against Greece. Trent Alexander-Arnold is set to go head-to-head with Kostas Tsimikas.

And in the build-up to that game at Wembley on Thursday, Alexander-Arnold has been speaking publicly amid his current contract stand-off at Anfield.

Peter Crouch offers Trent Alexander-Arnold response
Alexander-Arnold was brilliant for England during the September internationals. With Gareth Southgate gone, the Liverpool academy graduate has thrived under Lee Carsley.

Kyle Walker back for the games against Greece and Finland, though, and it will be interesting to see whether Carsley sticks with Trent his time, too.

Of course, Liverpool supporters have a much bigger topic to be interested in with regards to their right-back. And speaking to ITV Sport ahead of the game against Greece, Alexander-Arnold sent some slightly veiled messages about his future.

“This was a conversation I had last camp on the coach with Eze,” said the 26-year-old. “I said ‘there’s a chance that I may never win another trophy in my career again, but there’s a chance I win many, many more.’

“I think you’ll only know the morning after you retire and you look yourself in the mirror and you’ll either see regret or satisfaction with what you’ve achieved.”

With Alexander-Arnold going on to say that he places more emphasis on knowing that he’s given his career everything rather than how many trophies he does eventually win, former Liverpool striker Peter Crouch responded to his words.

Taking to X to share Alexander-Arnold’s quotes, Crouch simply posted ‘What it’s about.’ Given the context of Trent’s words and his ongoing contract issues, this cuts a rather cryptic message from the pundit.

What else did Trent Alexander-Arnold say?
A lot of Alexander-Arnold’s interview in the build-up to England play was, as you might expect, to do with the national team.

The Liverpool defender says that he does not yet feel an established player within the international set-up and plans to get more out of his career with the Three Lions.

Trent also says that he’s ready to chase more trophies and do everything he can to be successful.

Interestingly, the Scouser says that he’s approaching a pivotal role in his career and transitioning into the prime of his career, too.

Hopefully that will be spent and realised at Liverpool, but even after this extensive interview, we’re still no closer to knowing the answer to that all important question.
