'Unbelievable' Arsenal midfielder will now miss international call-up as update on his fitness emerges

Arsenal’s start to the season has been almost faultless despite enduring some challenges along the way.

Mikel Arteta‘s side are going into the latest international break sat in third spot of the Premier League table just one point off the lead.
And this comes despite Arsenal‘s struggles with some major absences already in the early stages of this season.

Martin Odegaard has now been sidelined through injury after suffering on the last international break whilst representing Norway.

There have also been the absences of players like Declan Rice and Leandro Trossard who have both missed out through suspension.

And it seems as if Arteta could be dealing with another concern with one specific player now being kept in north London over this international period.

The Gunners’ midfield department has suffered heavily already this season and more potential issues will be of real concern to Arteta.

Rice will be departing for international duty with England where he has become one of the mainstays in the Three Lions’ starting XI.

However, it seems as if one of his Arsenal teammates will not be making the the trip to join up with his national side this week.

According to Charles Watts, midfielder Thomas Partey is now expected to remain at London Colney over this international break.

Although the issue is not believed to be injury-related, Partey is suffering through some illness which has seen him remain in north London.

Having been plunged back into the Arsenal midfield on a regular basis, Partey is now being offered the chance to rest over the next week or so.

The decision is believed to be a precautionary one but one which Arsenal fans will likely be in favour of.

Arsenal have been impressed by Thomas Partey
The ‘unbelievable‘ Ghana international has racked up over 700 minutes of football already this season across all competitions.

Partey has been able to start all seven of Arsenal’s opening Premier League games as well both Champions League fixtures.
