Liverpool dominated the opening stages against their second consecutive Serie A opponents after beating AC Milan 3-1 at the San Siro in the first league phase match.
Arne Slot’s men were rewarded for their bright opening as Mac Allister tapped home a delicious cross from Mohamed Salah to become the first-ever Argentine to score for Liverpool in the Champions League.
However, this goal was all about the build-up with Mac Allister pulling the strings in a fine team move as he exchanged passes with Ryan Gravenberch, Dominik Szoboszlai and Darwin Nunez to get Liverpool within striking distance.
