Arsenal hit by Ben White injury and star duo doubts as two players return

Leandro Trossard was forced off during Belgium’s defeat to Israel, and while early assessments suggest bruising on his leg, he remains a doubt for the weekend.

Right-back Ben White is expected to be sidelined until 2025 after undergoing treatment for a knee issue. The 27-year-old faces a 12-week recovery period which will force Arteta into looking at different defensive options.

Takehiro Tomiyasu and Kieran Tierney have resumed training, offering Arteta a potential boost in defensive options. Meanwhile, Riccardo Calafiori is edging closer to a return, having been sidelined since the Champions League win over Shakhtar Donetsk with a knee injury.

Declan Rice, who played against Chelsea with a broken toe, will be assessed by Arsenal’s medical staff ahead of Saturday’s game. Bukayo Saka, who was substituted at Stamford Bridge due to injury, will also undergo further evaluation.
