Arsenal summer transfer priorities become clearer ahead of showdown Kroenke meeting

Arsenal chiefs are set to hold talks with the Kroenke family this week about their plans for upcoming transfer windows after sporting director Edu resigned.
Edu's departure was announced last week and he is now set to take up a new role overseeing the clubs owned by Evangelos Marinakis, which includes Nottingham Forest. And a number of key figures at the club are jetting off to the US to discuss their plans with Josh and Stan Kroenke.

The meeting was scheduled long before Edu decided to leave, but it has taken on even more importance as a result of the news. According to the Standard, Arsenal's plans for the next two transfer windows will be high on the agenda.

The report states that Arsenal are considering moves for a new winger, striker and goalkeeper, as well as weighing up how best to provide manager Mikel Arteta with cover for captain Martin Odegaard.

Odegaard has only recently returned from an ankle injury which kept him sidelined for several months and Arsenal struggled to replace his creativity during his time out, highlighting the need for another creative midfielder.

RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko was a major target for Arsenal last summer and the report suggests that the Gunners could revisit their interest in the Slovenia international. Arsenal are also credited with an interest in Newcastle's Alexander Isak.

Spain winger Nico Williams was also targeted by Arsenal last summer and the 22-year-old has a £48million release clause in his contract. However, a number of other top European sides remain interested in his services, including Barcelona.

At least one new goalkeeper is on the agenda as well, with David Raya the clear No.1 after Aaron Ramsdale was sold to Southampton. Neto is currently his backup, but the 35-year-old is only on loan from Bournemouth.

Arsenal were interested in Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia last summer, but were unable to finalise a late move for the 23-year-old. However, he is another player they could revisit their interest in at the end of the season.
