Chelsea injury news and return dates after Arsenal draw

Another international break is here with Chelsea going into it off the back of their second 1-1 draw in a row in the Premier League. Pedro Neto’s equalising goal earned them a point at Stamford Bridge against Arsenal.

That game follows a 1-1 draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford last weekend when Chelsea again came from behind to take a point. In between the two games, the Blues recorded an 8-0 UEFA Conference League win over Armenia.

Enzo Maresca discovers new Chelsea undroppable with unexpected Cole Palmer Arsenal replacement
Several members of Enzo Maresca’s squad will now jet off to represent their nations over the final international break of the year. When they return, eyes will be on a trip to take on Leicester City in the Premier League.

The game will see Maresca return to his former club for the first time since leaving for Chelsea in the summer. The Italian led the Foxes to the Championship title in his one year in charge of the club.

Ahead of that match, here is a look at the latest injury news around Stamford Bridge. The game against Arsenal brought a couple of concerns.

Cole Palmer
Injury : Knee

Palmer was a doubt in the build-up to the clash against Arsenal after a foul by Lisandro Martinez in the closing stages of the draw vs Man United. He however played the full 90 minutes of the game, but was spotted limping after full-time.

What Enzo Maresca has said: "I don't think we took any risks. For sure, he was a doubt until the end.” When asked if he was ok, he added: "Yeah, he is painful now but it doesn't look something important."

Possible return date : Leicester City (A) - Saturday, November 23.

Romeo Lavia
Injury : Unknown

Lavia was substituted in the second half against Arsenal after suffering an injury during a collision with Jurrien Timber. He was replaced by Enzo Fernandez, who provided an assist for Pedro Neto’s equalising goal.

Possible return date : Leicester City (A) - Saturday, November 23.

Jadon Sancho
Reason for absence : Injury/illness

The Man United loanee has missed the last two Premier League games and the last four games in all competitions through both illness and injury. He was a doubt for the clash against Arsenal and didn’t make the squad.

What Enzo Maresca has said: "He is recovering from [illness]. He had a knock in the session. He is out for tomorrow, and we will see if he is available [this weekend] or after the international break." (Nov 6).

Possible return date: Leicester City (A) - Saturday, November 23.

Omari Kellyman
Injury : Hamstring

The summer signing has missed the last few months with a hamstring injury. At the time football.london reported that he was aiming to return in November.

What has been said: The player wrote on Instagram: "Gutted to have suffered another long hamstring injury [broken heart emoji] Part of the game but I'll be back stronger [bicep emoji]."
