According to CaughtOffside, Arsenal are set to open talks soon with regards to Kolo Muani and could make a move for him during the January transfer window amid ongoing interest from Newcastle United.
The Gunners have been linked to several strikers in the last few months, with Alexander Isak, Victor Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen all tipped for big-money moves to the Emirates. However, Muani would provide a much cheaper, albeit initially short-term, option on a loan deal.
Muani has made 53 appearances for PSG since he joined from Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt in 2023, scoring 11 goals and provided seven assists in that time. However, the £79m attacker has not made the impact he would’ve hoped at PSG and so a loan deal could be on the cards.
Arsenal face Premier League competition to sign Muani
The Gunners aren’t alone in their reported interest in the striker as Manchester United, West Ham and Newcastle are all reportedly keen on Muani too.
Arsenal could lodge 'offer' for Serie A ace as Aston Villa and Manchester City target is eyed
They are all in need of striker help as West Ham have been poor in attack this season, Newcastle are at risk of losing Isak who is yet to sign a new contract at St. James’ Park and United’s strikers Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have struggled for goals recently.
Arsenal lack of options up front as Kai Havertz has been playing as a striker despite the fact that he’s not a natural number nine. Furthermore, Gabriel Jesus has been unable to be the goalscorer his side need, which means Gunners boss Mikel Arteta could be keen to add Muani, who could be a short-term solution as the Gunners aim to win their first Premier League title since 2003/04.
