'Dangerous and Amazing': Gary Neville raves about one Arsenal player who really 'stood up' v Chelsea today

Arsenal and Chelsea played out a 1-1 draw and Gary Neville pointed out during the game who he felt really performed for the Gunners.

Gabriel Martinelli gave Arsenal the lead before a fine effort from Pedro Neto ensured Chelsea walked away with the spoils.
With Liverpool winning and Man City losing, it really has been a weekend where Arne Slot’s Anfield outfit have been the big winners.

Of course, for Arsenal, a draw is not the end of the world but in reality, they’ll have been looking for so much more from the game at Chelsea.

On the day, some of Arsenal’s big hitters didn’t hit the heights they can, especially in the final third.

However, while the likes of Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka were quiet, Gary Neville did find time to praise goal-scorer Martinelli for his contribution.

Gabriel Martinelli praised by Gary Neville for his performance against Chelsea
Speaking on commentary for Sky Sports, Neville was quick to sing the praises of Martinelli and insisted that he had been the one Arsenal forward who had stepped up to the plate.

“Martinelli is the one that had chances in the first half and he is looking dangerous in the second half,” Neville said.

“Martinelli has been the one Arsenal forward that I think has stood up today.”

Can Martinelli find the consistency to make him an Arsenal great?
Gabriel Martinelli is a fine young player with plenty about him and he’s done well for Arsenal for a prolonged period now.

The big question is whether he can consistently add the goals to really elevate himself into an elite forward.

Right now, he has just the three goals all season and his strike today was his first in five.

For Martinelli to really shine, he needs to add a level of consistency to proceedings and prove he can score 15-20 a season with ease.

Until then, question marks will remain, despite his positive contribution against Chelsea.
