'I really believe': Micah Richards thinks he's spotted Arsenal's big weakness as he makes Kai Havertz point

Arsenal dropped more Premier League points this weekend as they drew with Chelsea to fall further behind Liverpool at the top of the table.

The Gunners have had a bit of a nightmare few weeks really and while they welcomed Martin Odegaard back to the starting XI, they still couldn’t get past Chelsea.
It means Arsenal go into the third international break of the season nine points behind Liverpool at the summit and four off Man City in second.

With January around the corner, it will be interesting to see just what these clubs do.

And according to Micah Richards, it’s absolutely clear what Arsenal need.

Micah Richards tells Arsenal they have got to sign a ‘poacher’
Speaking on the latest episode of the Rest Is Football podcast, Richards got onto the subject of Arsenal and their lack of firepower at times.

And according to Richards, Arsenal need to finally get a proper number nine signed.

“I really believe they need a striker now,” Richards quipped. “I think Havertz has done exceptionally well in terms of holding the ball up, the runs he makes, linking up play, technically very. good, works hard.

“He has got all the attributes for what Arsenal want in terms of the way they want to press, the way they want to set.

“But sometimes I think that they need a poacher, they need that striker’s instinct at times where you can go missing for 80 minutes of the game, but in the vital moment you just get that goal. I just think that’s what Arsenal are missing.”

An easy argument to make against Arsenal
While there is a case for Arsenal to sign a striker and get that ‘poacher’ Richards talks about here, it’s also quite an easy point to throw at them as well.

Arsenal have still scored 18 Premier League goals this season, which is only three less than table topping Liverpool and four less than Erling Haaland-led Man City.

Yes, the Gunners could probably do with someone to bundle the ball home at times.

But in the main, it would likely disrupt how they play and with a market hardly bursting with available world-class strikers, Arsenal might well be best sticking to their guns again.
