The Merseyside giants are almost certain to sign a striker next summer as Darwin Nunez has continued to remain an inconsistent number 9 and Diogo Jota is not seen as a long-term option.
Liverpool are in the market for a reliable goalscorer and their scouts are watching several players as they continue to assess all their options ahead of the big transfer window next summer.
Lille’s Jonathan David and Sporting Lisbons’s Viktor Gyokeres are two of the players the Merseyside giants are looking at and a move for either of them would signal a specific transfer plan.
However, the Merseyside giants have been heavily linked with one man who has been scoring for fun in the top flight of German football this season.
Club ‘open to selling’ top target for the Merseyside giants
Omar Marmoush has banged in 14 goals while registering ten assists across all competitions this season and is one of the top targets for Liverpool.
The Reds have already held talks with his representatives and the forward is keen to move to Liverpool where he could replace his countryman Mohamed Salah.
Barcelona are also interested in the forward but Liverpool are prepared to pay a premium if needed to secure a deal to take the forward to Anfield.
Eintracht Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krosche conceded that the financial reality of the club means that if a team offer them a good price, they would have to sell Marmoush.

However, he insisted that the plan is to keep the current squad together at least until the end of the season before a decision is made on the future of certain players.
“Like other clubs, we have to generate transfer revenue”, Krosche was quoted as saying by Fussball.news.
“And if a club comes and pays what we want, then we are always open to selling a player.
“But now we want to play successful football. Our goal is to keep the team together until the summer.”
