The centre-back failed to make the final cut for Gareth Southgate’s 26-man squad alongside fellow Reds’ academy graduate and teammate Curtis Jones.
But Southgate’s interim replacement Lee Carsley summoned Quansah to train with the Three Lions despite being initially drafted in by the under-21s.
He has now been added to the senior squad after Jarrad Branthwaite left the camp with a groin issue picked up in last weekend’s Premier League action.
“It’s a great opportunity for Jarell”, said Carsley.
If called upon in either of the Nations League encounters with Greece and the Republic of Ireland, Quansah will earn his first senior international cap.
