With the international break finally out of the way, the Gunners will hope revive their title challenge and close in on Liverpool and Manchester City.
They’ll be up against a tough Nottingham Forest side that has started the season very well, although they go into the Arsenal game on the back of a 3-1 home loss to Newcastle United.
That said, Mikel Arteta’s Gunners haven’t won in the league since the start of October, putting them level on points with Nuno Espirito Santo’s Reds on 19.
Arsenal legend David Seaman has now predicted how Arsenal will fare against Forest, admitting to having some concerns involving both his former club and their opponents.
David Seaman worried Nottingham Forest could do to Arsenal what they did to Liverpool
Seaman, speaking on the Seaman Says podcast, says Forest’s shock win at Liverpool earlier this season is on his mind ahead of Saturday’s match at the Emirates.
The panel also spoke about how well Chris Wood is doing, and Seaman went on to acknowledge how Arsenal are not earning comfortable routine wins at present.
“At the Emirates, it’s Arsenal against Forest, and all I’ve can think about is Liverpool against Forest,” said Seaman.
“And that was a big shock, you know, and are they capable of doing that again? They’re better (now than back then).”
Seaman went on to say: “We’re in a situation at the moment where we’re not guaranteed a win, you know what I mean? It’s not like, ‘oh yeah, we’ll win that quite comfortably’, that’s not happening at the moment.
However, Seaman was a bit more optimistic as the podcast went on, saying: “If Declan’s fit, Bukayo’s fit, then we are more or less at full strength, and at home, you know, so we should (be able to win).”
Arsenal have been handed a significant injury boost, with Mikel Arteta confirming at his pre-match press conference that Riccardo Calafiori will be available.
Arteta also told the Arsenal media team that Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice “had their first partial (training) session” on Friday and Leandro Trossard “seems to be okay”.
As for Forest, only Danilo and Ibrahim Sangare are definitely out for the game, with the former recovering from an ankle injury and the latter having a thigh issue.
