Salah was electric once again for the Reds, and speaking on the Wrighty’s House Podcast, Ian Wright has been full of praise for the Egyptian.
Wright says that Salah is coming up with the goods every single game for Liverpool, and he says that Arsenal simply don’t have a player like that.
Arsenal don’t have anyone like Mohamed Salah
Wright spoke about the difference the £34m man is making at Liverpool, claiming that Arsenal are seriously missing a player like this.
The pundit says that Arsenal don’t have someone who can just do the business every single week.
“Salah, with what he’s playing at the moment, the man’s just, whatever he’s doing in the game, he’s coming up with something. He’s doing something, and that is what’s missing. That’s what’s missing from us,” Wright said.
“Haaland obviously can do that for Man City. But Liverpool just look very good, you know, whether it’s Gravenbirch, whether it’s Curtis Jones, Salah taking the chance.”
Salah compared to Arsenal’s attackers
It’s interesting that Wright makes this comparison between Salah and Arsenal, because this is a debate that is often had.
However, the stats show that Salah is a much more decisive player, and that’s what ultimately decides your legacy and your silverware collection when all is said and done.
Player Games Goals Winning goals
Mohamed Salah 366 221 60
Bukayo Saka 241 62 18
Gabriel Martinelli 191 44 14
Kai Havertz 68 21 8
Respective stats for Liverpool and Arsenal
Salah steps up in the big moments in a way that no Arsenal attacker does.
Yes, Kai Havertz has scored a winning goal in a Champions League final for Chelsea, but he’s not done it yet for Arsenal in a massive game like that, whereas Salah has made a career of scoring huge goals in huge moments for Liverpool.
Ultimately, a player like Salah will be the difference in a title race, and if Liverpool are to win the title this season, the Egyptian will have played a huge part.
