TRANSFER UPDATE:Arsenal to hold talks over a deal to seal surprise move for £33m flop

Arsenal are reportedly planning to open talks over a deal to sign Paris Saint-Germain striker Randal Kolo Muani, as per Caught Offside.

Having joined Eintracht Frankfurt as a free agent back in 2022, the Frenchman enjoyed a stellar debut campaign for the German side, making 26 goal contributions in 32 Bundesliga appearances.
After being impressed by the 25-year-old’s displays for the Eagles, Les Parisiens decided to splash big money to lure him to Parc des Princes last year.

However, upon joining the French giants, Kolo Muani has been struggling to showcase his best in recent times and has now completely found himself out of favour this season.

So, speculation surrounding his future has started to emerge ahead of the upcoming January window. Now, Caught Offside state that Arsenal are interested in the Frenchman and are planning to open talks over a deal to sign him.

Kolo Muani to Arsenal
The forward is valued at around £33m by Transfermarkt and still has three and a half years left in his current contract. Therefore, PSG are likely to demand a sizable amount of money to recoup some of the fees that they paid to hire him.

However, considering his recent form, it might not be a wise decision to spend big to purchase him. Despite Kolo Muani’s struggles at PSG, he remains a key player for France national team under Didier Deschamps.

The report says Arsenal aren’t the only club interested in the centre-forward as Manchester United and Newcastle United are also keen on signing him.

Following Eddie Nketiah’s departure to Crystal Palace, Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus are the two strikers Arsenal currently have. So, if they sign Kolo Muani then he would add depth to their frontline.

The PSG star is a versatile player as he can play in the centre-forward position as well as the wide areas. It is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually make a concrete approach to sign the France international in the upcoming winter window.

Meanwhile, after beating Nottingham Forest last weekend, Arsenal will now face off against Sporting CP in the Champions League tomorrow.
