The Gunners currently sit fourth in the top flight table – nine points behind leaders Liverpool – but they could go into second place with victory over the Tractor Boys.
Mikel Arteta’s side will fancy their chances of picking up all three points at The Emirates, with Ipswich having lost nine of their 17 games so far this term.
The January transfer window is now fast approaching, and it has emerged that the Gunners are considering a huge move for one of Europe’s most prolific strikers.
As reported by Football Insider, the North London side are contemplating a move for striker Victor Osimhen when the mid-season transfer window opens.
The report claims that Arsenal are monitoring the player, who is currently on loan at Turkish side Galatasaray from Italian outfit Napoli.
Osimhen has emerged as a target for Arsenal ahead of the January transfer window
Osimhen, 25, has previously been linked with a move to the Premier League but joined Galatasaray over the summer after failing to secure a move elsewhere.
The Nigerian, who has scored 76 goals in 133 games for Napoli, has netted 12 times in 15 games in Turkey, as well as providing five assists.
Chelsea, who had previously been chasing the Nigeria international, are no longer as interested following Nicolas Jackson’s improvement in form, the report claims.
Although Osimhen is on loan in Turkey, he is believed to have a clause in the deal that would allow Napoli to recall the player and sell him if a potential move is on the cards.
While Arsenal are keen on the player and he could be available at a lower price than he was valued at over the summer, the report does also claim that the striker would still cost a significant amount and the Gunners may therefore not be able to sign him mid-season.
