Mikel Arteta would love 2025 to be the year Arsenal finally get their hands back on the Premier League trophy and he may have to dip into the transfer market in January to keep his team competitive. With Saka ruled out for a number of weeks after picking up a hamstring injury, the Spaniard has his eyes on AC Milan star Chukwueze as cover for the winger. According to reports, Arsenal could offer Jakub Kiwior in a swap deal for the 25-year-old, with Milan reportedly interested in the defender.
Saka's injury is a huge blow for Arsenal as they chase down Liverpool in the title race. Martin Odegaard's injury earlier in the campaign harmed the Gunners' form and Arteta will be keen to avoid that. With the January window just around the corner, Saka's absence may prove to be the perfect excuse for the North London club to make a statement to their rivals from Merseyside.
Saka has featured in all but three of Arsenal's games so far this season. He has now tallied 250 appearances in a Gunners shirt at the age of 23, but the huge number of minutes he has played may have finally caught up to him, particularly with his explosive playstyle.
WHAT NEXT FOR SAKA AND ARSENAL?
Arteta has not put an exact timeframe on Saka's return, but hamstring injuries can easily keep a player sidelined for six or more weeks. Arsenal face Ipswich at home on Friday night before travelling to Brentford on New Year's Day.
