The duo started alongside each other in central midfield in Manchester United's dismal defeat to Newcastle on Monday night. Casemiro and Eriksen were overwhelmed by the Magpies, who claimed a comfortable 2-0 win.

Alexander Isak and Joelinton both scored within the first 20 minutes to put the visitors in firm control of the game. United now face an unwelcome trip to Premier League leaders Liverpool on Sunday.
Ahead of that clash, Neville has warned embattled boss Amorim he must make a change to his line-up. The legendary skipper has insisted that a midfield containing Casemiro and Eriksen will not work against Arne Slot's side.
"Casemiro and [Christian] Eriksen haven't got the legs to get around. Casemiro and Eriksen shouldn't be playing together in the Premier League. It is just so easy," Neville told Sky Sports.
"When you saw the Manchester United starting XI you had to think it would be very difficult for this team to play well. Rhe two wing-backs aren't very good in the attacking part of the pitch. The two central midfielders can't run. The back three have no legs.
"They have been absolutely awful. You are watching the worst pound-for-pound team in the country. There are only three of them who can say they have been alright under Amorim: Dalot, [Noussair] Mazraoui and Amad."
Neville has insisted Casemiro and Christian Eriken cannot continue to play together
Amorim has brought in a 3-4-2-1 system since his arrival, to mixed results. But the 39-year-old has insisted he will not be changing his tactics, despite the challenge of taking on Liverpool.
"It’s like playing with three it's, more or less, the same thing of playing with four. We can change the characteristics, if you play with Amad on the wing, it could be a little bit different. We have some games that we press in 4-4-2. So I don’t see it that way," he said.
"I didn’t choose the players specifically for that position, but that I already knew, but I have to sell my idea, if I’m going to change all the time, it’s going to be even worse. But I understand that they have a lot of difficulties.

"They spend two years playing one way and then they are playing another. And with a lot of losses, it’s really tough on them and you can feel it during the games. Even today, when we try to score and we are near to score, it’s more from them than the organisation.
"It’s a very difficult moment and we have to fight for the next game and to implement the idea to win games and also to have the performance, because I think we are losing some things from the last games."
