'I speak': What Rio Ferdinand keeps hearing about Gabriel Jesus when chatting to other pundits

Arsenal are having some serious problems in terms of scoring goals at the moment.

The Gunners have failed to score a single goal from open play in any of their last three games, and, once again, the conversation around Arsenal’s striking options is cropping up.

All summer long people said that Arsenal need a striker, and that suggestion appears to be ringing true.

Kai Havertz has been criticised in recent times, while Gabriel Jesus has failed to score all season long.

Jesus is a talented player, but, right now, he looks bereft of confidence.

Jesus had a good pre-season, but he’s come into this campaign looking totally out of sorts.

Speaking on his podcast, Rio Ferdinand has been discussing Jesus’ problems, and while the striker is struggling, Ferdinand maintains that the Brazilian is still rated amongst other pundits.
What other pundits say about Gabriel Jesus
Ferdinand spoke about Jesus’ recent struggles.

The pundit says that Jesus needs to play more in the 18-yard box, while he also noted that many of his colleagues who are former defenders have told him they’d hate to play against Jesus.

“I’ve actually said this to Jesus. You play within the box, you’re a nightmare. I speak to so many centre backs who are pundits now, and they go, I wouldn’t want to play against Jesus,” Ferdinand said.

“Hard work. He’s a problem, like he does a lot, he works hard all the time. “I think he takes, he spends too many, too much energy working outside of where you earn your crust. Ask somebody the problem solved. And that is normally when he comes on the pitch, is to get a goal.”

Gabriel Jesus’ longest goal droughts
Jesus is really struggling in front of goal at the moment.

Jesus has always been a patchy striker who relies on his confidence, but this is certainly the worst run of form he’s had since arriving in England.

Indeed, this is Jesus’ longest goal drought in the Premier League since his debut.

The striker has previously gone 10 games without a goal on numerous occasions, and while that’s not good enough, his current run of 23 league matches without a goal is nothing short of a nightmare.

The frustrating thing is that, as Ferdinand alludes to, Jesus is a talented player who can be so tough to play against, but, at this moment in time, he looks completely lost as a footballer.

Jesus needs to find a way to rediscover his best form, because, at the moment, Arsenal’s title hopes are hanging by a thread after dropping more points at the weekend against Everton.
