Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez decisions made as Liverpool make two changes for Leicester City clash

Darwin Nunez and Curtis Jones start for Liverpool as Arne Slot's Premier League leaders aim to go seven points clear at the summit at home to Leicester City. Chelsea's defeat to Fulham at Stamford Bridge means the Reds can put real daylight between themselves and the chasing pack ahead of Sunday's trip to West Ham United.

Nunez comes in for Luis Diaz at the tip of the attack as Cody Gakpo keeps his place on the left of the front three after Sunday's 6-3 demolition of Tottenham Hotspur, while Jones replaces Dominik Szoboszlai, who is given a rest after his lung-bursting exertions in that eye-catching triumph in North London.

It means Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch keep their place at the base of the midfield against Ruud van Nistelrooy's relegation-threatened Foxes.

Nunez returns to the side in favour of Diogo Jota, who is still trying to get back up to 100% fitness after two months out injured.

Trent Alexander-Arnold starts at right-back with Joe Gomez continuing his partnership with captain Virgil van Dijk in the centre, while Andy Robertson starts on the left. Alisson Becker continues in goal.

Liverpool: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Jones, Gakpo; Nunez.

Subs: Kelleher, Endo, Quansah, Tsimikas, Jota, Diaz, Elliott, Chiesa, Szoboszlai.
