Revealed: The two Liverpool players who Will leave in January

In fact, Liverpool’s entire youth setup are having joy this year. Trey Nyoni and Tyler Morton both have multiple first-team appearances this season in League Cup action.

Two players that made their season debuts in the League Cup outing against Southampton last week were Jayden Danns and James McConnell.

Arne Slot has incorporated a few of his youth players into first-team training to get them in tune with top-level play, and the introduction of Danns and McConnell in that game showed the trust he has in them.

That is seemingly why, as The Athletic are reporting, both Danns and McConnell could be in line for January loan moves.

Danns and McConnell could be headed for the Championship
Both players were meant to be heading out in the summer before injuries ruled this out for them, with Wayne Rooney’s Plymouth Argyle being the reported destination for Danns, while five clubs were looking at McConnell - including Hull, Derby and the aforementioned Blackburn, all of whom have a good working relationship with the Reds.

If they were to head out, then, Danns to Plymouth and McConnell to one of those sides is the most likely destination.

Arne Slot clearly values both players and values the development young players can go through on loan spells.

Danns in particular is a prospect who feels destined for first-team football, having scored multiple goals for the senior side under Jurgen Klopp last season, including a brace in the FA Cup against Southampton.

McConnell also appeared in a significant amount of minutes under Klopp last season, including three appearances in the Europa League and two starts in the FA Cup, which came with an assist in a 5-2 drubbing of Norwich.
