The Dutchman and the Egyptian are now among the greatest players to ever play for the Reds, having become legendary figures since joining the club.
Van Dijk and Salah are both out of contract next summer, however, along with Trent Alexander-Arnold, and supporters are keeping their fingers crossed that they all sign extensions
Speaking to Give Me Sport, Sheth said that the iconic Liverpool pair are “very likely” to sign new deals in the near future, rather than leave for free in the summer of 2025:
“I think the focus at Liverpool seems to be the players that are there at the moment, Salah, Van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
“Until there is concrete signatures on a piece of paper or not, then they will continue to be talked about, because they’ll be entering the final six months.
“They can talk to clubs outside the Premier League come January. It looks very likely at the moment, that Salah and Van Dijk will stay. I’m not saying Alexander-Arnold won’t stay. It’s just that his one hasn’t been made as public as Salah and Van Dijk.”
Our thoughts on Sheth’s update on Van Dijk and Salah…
It goes without saying that this acts as an exciting update from the Sky Sports man, with Liverpool fans desperate to hear anything positive about Van Dijk and Salah, and Alexander-Arnold for that matter.
In truth, it doesn’t make sense for either of them to move on at this point in their career, especially with the Reds looking like the best team in Europe under Arne Slot currently.
A move anywhere else would feel like a step down at this point in time, so Van Dijk and Salah will surely stay on and continue to enjoy several more years at Liverpool, further cementing their legendary status.
