'They all want to play' - Arteta issues Arsenal injury and team news update ahead of Manchester United fixture

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta says all of his injured players 'want to play' when they host Manchester United in the Premier League on Wednesday night.

The Gunners head into the match with five injury concerns and it is still remains unclear who might be available when they host Ruben Amorim's side later this week.

Gabriel Magalhães and Riccardo Calafiori both came off with injuries in the chaotic 5-2 win over West Ham United on Saturday night, while Thomas Partey, Mikel Merino and Myles Lewis-Skelly missed the match entirely with longer term issues.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Arteta issued an update on his squad and revealed some players had not been involved in full training ahead of the clash. "We’re going to have a meeting this afternoon," he told reporters. "We have done a training session. We monitored and kept some players away from certain activities. They all want to play."

United head into the match without the suspended Kobbie Mainoo and Lisandro Martinez, while Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans are both expected to miss out with long-term injury issues. There was some good news from a selection perspective though, with Bruno Fernandes fit to play following his injury scare at the weekend, while Leny Yoro is in line to be named in a competitive matchday squad for the first time.
