Speaking on the Wrighty’s House Podcast, Ian Wright has been discussing what Arsenal should do in January, and he’s named two players he’d really like the Gunners to go for.
The two players Arsenal should go for in January
Ian Wright urged Arsenal to go for Omar Marmoush and Ademola Lookman in January.
Both players are shining in Germany and Italy respectively, and Wright believes Arsenal need to have a look at these two.
“You know what? There’s two players I’d probably go for here. But like, we obviously have to go for one,” Wright said.
“And I’d like people to have a look at Omar Marmoush, Eintracht Frankfurt.
“You know him, right? You know him very well. And you know, from Eintracht Frankfurt, and you know, Ademola Lookman from Atlanta, bro.
“If you’re going, if I’m going now, and you have to get something, if you go hard, bam, I’m going hard on them two. Go and look at Omar Marmoush, Eintracht Frankfurt, what he’s doing.”
Omar Marmoush compared to Ademola Lookman
Wright has suggested two of the most in-form attackers in Europe for Arsenal, and both men would be good options.
However, when you look at the stats this season, it’s clear to see who Arsenal should go for.
League games only
This season, Marmoush has been arguably the best attacker in Europe as he’s banged in the goals alongside a healthy number of assists.
Of course, Lookman has been brilliant too, but his numbers aren’t quite as impressive as Marmoush’s.
Both of these players could be set for big moves in the near future, and with Arsenal in the market for a new attacker, perhaps the Gunners could take a look at these two.
Wright has certainly made a good suggestion for Arsenal here, but whether or not the Gunners spring into action next month remains to be seen.
