Arsenal confident that two targets want to join

Arsenal need just a single point from their last match to secure qualification for the last 16 of the Champions League.

The Gunners defeated Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb 3-0 on Wednesday night, courtesy of goals from Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, and Martin Odegaard.

That result moved Mikel Arteta’s side up to third in the table and effectively sealed their place in the last 16, barring an unlikely goal difference swing during the final round of matches.

Arsenal have struggled in the Premier League of late and now look unlikely to win the top flight title, but their form in Europe will be welcomed by Arteta as he looks to change their domestic fortunes.

Now, it appears that the North London side are confident about their chances of signing two of their transfer targets.

According to GiveMeSport, Arsenal are increasingly optimistic about their chances of signing both Wolves’ Matheus Cunha and RB Leipzig star Benjamin Sesko.

The Gunners will be without Gabriel Jesus for the remainder of the current campaign after the Brazilian suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury, and Arteta and those in charge of the club’s recruitment are therefore keen to bolster their attacking options.

Cunha has been in fine form for Wolves this season

It is claimed that Arsenal are confident that Sesko, 21, is interest in a move to The Emirates, however a deal may prove tricky as the player himself is reluctant to push for a move away from his current club.

Sesko has scored 32 goals in 68 games for Leipzig since joining from Red Bull Salzburg in the summer of 2023.

The report also claims that Arsenal feel they may have to make an offer close to Leipzig’s £60 million valuation of the player in order to better understand how likely they are to sign the player.

Cunha, meanwhile, is said to be keen on the idea of a move to Arsenal despite attracting significant interest from elsewhere.

Fellow Premier League clubs Nottingham Forest, Chelsea, Newcastle United, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are all believed to be interested in the Brazilian, who has scored ten goals in 21 Premier League matches so far this term.

Wolves are adamant that the 25-year-old is not for sale this month, but the report suggests that the player himself is keen to join Arteta’s squad.
