Arsenal could miss perfect £50m opportunity to sign striker with 30 goal contributions this season

When asked if Arsenal need a specialist goalscorer, Arteta replied this week: “Well in the front position in comparison to what other clubs have done and the spending that we have there, we are very far from it, for very different reasons. First of all because we already have very good players and because we have many necessities in the squad to achieve in that period.”

Meanwhile, asked about the need to sign a striker to avoid a goal drought, he replied: “I have so much support from the board. I continue to have it, and we are all seeking and willing to do the same thing, which is to win the maximum amount of football matches in the way that we want to play, to achieve the goals we want, which is to win trophies. That support continues to be there, but we have our limitations.”

In the meantime, the search goes on for Arsenal, who are not likely to move unless the right deal comes up, although the right deal might end up passing them by.

Marmoush opportunity
Eintracht Frankfurt appear to be ready to move on from forward Omar Marmoush, who has found the net regularly in Bundesliga, scoring 25 goals in 44 league appearances. The 25-year-old striker is under contract until 2027, but GiveMeSport report that Frankfurt are ready to sell for around £50million, which would be an affordable fee for the Gunners.

Though, Manchester City are now said to be closing in on a deal after agreeing terms with the player. Marmoush has 18 goals and 12 assists across all competitions this season, and that’s the kind of goal contribution Arsenal are sorely missing.
