The Gunners are in desperate need of more firepower with both Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus sidelined. And with goals currently hard to come by, the club's apparent reluctance to move for a new striker in the January transfer window has frustrated some fans.
It's no secret that Sesko is one of Arsenal's top targets: they even lined up a move back in the summer before the Slovenian striker decided to sign a new contract with RB Leipzig.
But Arsenal are now spinning multiple plates and are known to be keeping tabs on Matheus Cunha, who could still leave Wolves this month. And with it being unlikely they would sign both players, Arsenal and Arteta have plenty to ponder in the coming weeks.
It was reported earlier this month that Cunha was close to signing a new contract with Wolves. But Mirror Football understands the player's agent is looking to move the goalposts on said deal while keeping one eye on any potential transfer opportunities.
Signing the Brazilian would undoubtedly boost Arsenal's forward options in the title race. But with Sky Sports now revealing Sesko is free to move for £67m at the end of the season, Arsenal may decide waiting for the RB Leipzig star is the better option.
Wolves would demand a whopping £80m to let Cunha go this month given they are fighting at the wrong end of the Premier League table.
Alexander Isak, another striker Arsenal admire, is another name who is unattainable this month but could come into the equation in the summer if Newcastle fail to qualify for the Champions League.

Cunha was questioned by Wolves boss Vitor Pereira on Monday night after the forward appeared to snub fans and head straight down the tunnel following the 3-1 loss to Chelsea.
"This is something that cannot happen again, the frustration is the frustration, I understand everything, we need to be together," Pereira said.
"And together we can fix the problems and stay in the Premier League, if we start to complain about this and that, with this it won't work. He's [Cunha] committed to Wolves, but when you start to listen to the other clubs, I think he's human, the players start to be a little bit... It's normal in football.
"He needs to put the mind in the target to increase his level. He comes from injury, it's normal he's not in the same level to help the team with his quality. He has a lot, the team needs him with good energy, not with frustration, he must slow down and put the mind in the right way.
"He's a captain. He can be frustrated as he wants to win but everyone in the dressing room wants to win. I don't like his body language. I understand it now, I won't understand it next time."
