Newcastle have made it clear that Isak will not be sold unless the Gunners are prepared to break the bank for his signature. He is said to be valued at £150million, which will almost certainly put a January deal out of reach.
Isak was quizzed on those reports after scoring twice against Manchester United and was quick to play down a January move, saying: "It doesn't really faze me too much. I think that's more for you guys and for fans to talk about.
"I'm in the middle of the season and I think it's going really well for me and the team, so, you know, all my focus is here and I'm really happy with how things are going. My focus is on the pitch."
Express Sport takes a look at four potential alternatives who would be far cheaper for Arsenal to sign before the January window closes...

Liam Delap
An obvious choice would be Liam Delap, who has excelled for Ipswich Town since joining the Blues from Manchester City. He ran Chelsea ragged earlier this week, scoring his seventh goal of the campaign and setting up another with a driving run and pass.
His form has fuelled speculation that he could join a bigger club just months after moving to Ipswich in the summer. However, it remains to be seen if the Tractor Boys will be bullied into selling their prized asset in the middle of the season.
Benjamin Sesko
Arsenal have been linked with a move for Benjamin Sesko for some time without ever firming up their interest. He signed a one-year contract extension at RB Leipzig in the summer but his future remains a hot topic of discussion.
Sesko is a prolific scorer and has plenty of room for improvement at just 21 years of age, potentially making him a smart signing for Arsenal. That said, it has been reported that Leipzig would prefer to negotiate an exit in the summer as opposed to this month.
Matheus Cunha
Another in-form striker who has been linked with a January move, Matheus Cunha could provide Arsenal with some extra firepower up front. It has already been claimed that he features on Mikel Arteta's shortlist of attacking targets.
A move would likely be difficult for Arsenal to engineer, though. Wolves will be desperate to avoid selling Cunha before the end of the season, with the Molineux club still trying to pull themselves clear of the relegation battle.

Santiago Gimenez
Santiago Gimenez could be a shrewd signing for Arsenal, having shone at Feyenoord with 59 goals in 100 games since joining the Dutch giants in 2022. He appears to be in high demand, with the Gunners and other top teams said to have tracked his progress.
It seems like it will only be a matter of time before a top team comes in for Gimenez and Arsenal may look to steal a march on their rivals by making an early move.
