The north London giants registered a 2-1 victory over Girona on Wednesday (29 January) to make it six wins and one draw from their eight games in the revamped league phase of the competition.
That ensured Mikel Arteta’s side finished third in the table behind Liverpool and Barcelona.
The Times reported last August top Champions League clubs could be in line to make an extra £23million from the competition following Uefa’s format change this season.
Arsenal now won’t be back in European action until early March, with the knockout round play-offs set to take place in mid-February.

As per official Uefa documents released last March, each team will earn a guaranteed £16million for playing in the Champions League this season.
They will then be in line for extra cash payments under the governing body’s new value pillar system, which is split into European and non-European segments based on their coefficient ranking and the market pool.
Clubs are awarded £1.8million for each win and £583,000 for a draw in the league phase, meaning Arsenal have banked around £11.4million from their fixtures.
The Premier League side have also received £9.2million for qualifying automatically for the last 16 as well as £1.7million for finishing in the top eight.
The 36 clubs competing in the Champions League will also be paid an additional amount based on their individual ranking following the conclusion of the eight group games.
Bottom of the table Young Boys have earned £229,000, while Arsenal’s third-place finish has landed them a further £7.8million.
Sources have told Football Insider that takes the London side’s total prize money so far to around £75million, including the payments from the value pillar system.
That will provide a significant boost to the club’s finances as they look to continue their progress on and off the field.
