Arsenal star spotted at another stadium as club chief admits 'we want to sign him'

Arsenal wonderkid Ayden Heaven was in attendance to watch Eintracht Frankfurt beat Borussia Dortmund on Friday night, according to Frankfurt chief Markus Krosche.
And the German has admitted that discussions have taken place with the Gunners over a permanent move for Heaven, who is one of the brightest 18-year-olds emerging from Hale End. The youngster is yet to sign a professional contract at Arsenal and his scholarship terms will expire at the end of the season.

"We spoke to Arsenal," Krosche told ESPN. "We will try to sign him. He is a really good prospect and we will see if we can find a solution with him."

Krosche's open admission suggests that Arsenal are set to lose Heaven, who is part of the same academy class as Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly - two players to have graduated to important roles in Mikel Arteta's senior side.

It was reported by The Standard earlier this week that Frankfurt are interested in Heaven. Arsenal want to keep hold of the centre-back, but they would at least be due compensation if they lose him, given that he was developed in their academy.

Heaven was included in Arsenal's pre-season tour of the USA and made his senior debut against Preston North End in the Carabao Cup in October.

But he could now follow the likes of Jude Bellingham, Jadon Sancho and more recently Jamie Gittens in taking their talents to Germany with hopes of earning regular first-team football.

Heaven, who has featured in Premier League 2 and in the UEFA Youth League this season, is working his way through England's youth ranks and is highly regarded by many. But the chances of him finding a place in the Arsenal first-team on a regular basis are slim, given that William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes have formed a formidable centre-back partnership.
