Mikel Arteta has hinted the Gunners could move for a new striker in the winter market and stated they have been looking at improving the squad before this window opened.
Inter Milan star Marcus Thuram has ended up on Arsenal’s agenda. That’s at least what TV Play are reporting, and they provide the latest on the Premier League side’s interest in the 27-year-old.
He impressed for the Serie A side this season, scoring 14 goals and registering six assists from 26 games. The France international performances would have convinced the north London club.
The report states Arsenal are ‘ready to do something crazy’ in order to bring him to the Emirates immediately.
Juventus’ Dušan Vlahović has been linked to the English club, but TV Play claim their ‘big dream’ is to sign Thuram as he fits their needs and suits the Premier League.
They add Inter chairman Giuseppe Marotta must be able to resist a €70m offer from the Premier League, but don’t specify Arsenal planning to table any bid for Thuram.
According to the report, the Nerazzurri aren’t keen on a January deal, but the situation could be different in the summer. Therefore, Arsenal may not be successful if they were to make an immediate approach for the Frenchman.
