Boost as Arteta confirms Arsenal forward ‘will recover quickly’, could be back for Brighton

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has confirmed there could be more options to choose from in attack when his side visits Brighton on Saturday.

The Gunners secured their third straight win in the Premier League on Wednesday as they came from behind to beat Brentford 3-1 away from home.

Arsenal went into the clash without key forward Kai Havertz, adding to a growing list of absentees at a busy stage in the campaign.

The Germany international was reported to have succumbed to an illness which had affected others in the Arsenal squad.

However, speaking after the 3-1 victory over Brentford, Mikel Arteta confirmed that Havertz is expected to be available again this weekend.

“I think so yes, I think he will recover very quickly.” Arteta responded when asked if Havertz would return for Saturday’s clash with Brighton

The return of Havertz will be much-needed as Arsenal prepare for eight more fixtures across all competitions in the month of January.
