BREAKING NEWS NOW:Arsenal receive new Sesko transfer warning as £63m Man City deal confirmed

Arsenal are continuing to be hit with a firm transfer reality by Manchester City in the January window. Though they were not actively looking until later in the trading period, the Gunners are yet to sanction any deals this month despite their inconsistent form, which has mostly arrived due to injuries.
Pep Guardiola's side have arguably been impacted far more by both of those factors, and that has seen the City boss act. Defence is where the bulk of issues have arrived, with John Stones, Ruben Dias and Nathan Ake among those struggling to stay fit.

But their January business does not appear finished there, as Guardiola has now found his Julian Alvarez replacement in the form of Omar Marmoush. The former departed Etihad Stadium last summer and joined Atletico Madrid for an initial £64.4 million, plus potential add-ons worth £17.1 million.

A very similar amount will now be paid to Eintracht Frankfurt, with City announcing the Egypt international's arrival on Thursday morning for £63.4million. Exits also look set to be sealed by the Premier League champions with Kyle Walker joining AC Milan, which has resulted in City identifying Juventus' Andrea Cambiaso as a possible replacement.

While that deal may have to wait until the summer, City are absolutely dominating the January transfer window as Arsenal simply watch on. Benjamin Sesko, Viktor Gyokeres and Matheus Cunha have all been strongly linked to the Gunners over the last few weeks, with the latter the most likely to actually join.

Despite entering talks for a new contract at Wolves, it is now more likely he departs Molineux in the next week than stays and agrees that extension. Nottingham Forest are also interested, with Nuno Espirito Santo keen to bolster his attacking options, having already bid for Brentford's Yoane Wissa.

As for Sesko and Gyokeres, both players scored against each other in RB Leipzig's Champions League victory over Sporting CP. After the game, the German club's head coach Marco Rose again reiterated that Sesko would not be leaving in January.

Asked if the Slovenia international would be staying, he simply replied: "Yes, that’s still the case for us." While Frankfurt would have likely wanted Marmoush to stay, the offer from Man City was clearly too good, and therefore it may be worth Arsenal making an approach for one of their transfer targets that cannot be turned down.
