Exclusive: Arsenal offered chance to sign former Everton striker who has already scored 16 goals this season

TBR Football exclusively understands that Arsenal have been offered the chance to sign former Everton striker Moise Kean, who is in fine goalscoring form in Italy.

Arsenal have serious intentions to recruit a new striker before next week’s deadline, given the long-term injury to Gabriel Jesus.

In an ideal world, Mikel Arteta would bring one of his long-term striker targets to the club this month, however, the January transfer window is rarely the opportune time for major signings.

Arteta and Arsenal’s top brass believe that there is definitely room to bring another forward to the club this month, but they don’t want to bring in someone who is not already held in high regard.

Arsenal given chance to sign former Everton striker Moise Kean from Fiorentina
That being said, TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey understands that former Everton man Kean has been offered to the club along with two other new names.

Kean, who left Goodison Park officially in 2023, has scored 16 goals in 26 appearances for Fiorentina in all competitions so far this season.

Moise Kean of ACF Fiorentina in action during the Serie A match between SS Lazio and ACF Fiorentina at Olimpico on January 26, 2025 in Rome, Italy.

The 24-year-old came to the Premier League at a very young age, and wasn’t truly able to prove his quality for Everton, scoring just four goals at the club.

But the Italian has evidently made progress, hence why he’s now being offered to Arsenal.

In addition to Kean, Atalanta striker Mario Retegui has also been offered to the Gunners by way of the Serie A.

On his part, 25-year-old Retegui has scored 19 goals in 29 appearances for Atalanta this season, another stunning record.

And fans in north London might remember when Retegui missed a penalty against Arsenal in the Champions League earlier this season, a save David Raya deserved big credit for.

Mario Retegui and Manfred Ugalde also offered to Arsenal before deadline day
In addition to the two Serie A players mentioned, Arsenal have also been presented with the name of Manfred Ugalde.

22-year-old Ugalde is a Costa Rica international who is currently playing for Spartak Moscow in the Russian top flight.

Ugalde made the move to Spartak from FC Twente in the Netherlands at the start of 2024, and has scored 16 goals in 22 games this season.

Three strikers with excellent records who Arsenal might consider as options, but the Gunners don’t want to commit financially to a short-term deal.

Arsenal hope to sign Sverre Nypan this week, meaning that fans in north London could have some good news before deadline day at least.
