Elliott, 21, is currently out of contract at Anfield in June 2027 after signing his last extension in August 2022.
Brighton and German giants Borussia Dortmund have been widely linked with a potential swoop for Elliott.
But Liverpool are set to head off potential interest in the midfielder by sitting down with him to negotiate a contract extension.
It is believed talks are most likely to come in the off-season – when the uncertainty over the futures of Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk is resolved.
Elliott is yet to start a Premier League game in the 2024-25 campaign so far but suffered a serious foot injury early in the season.
Liverpool set to sit down with Elliott this summer
He has made 11 appearances across all competitions this term, notching one goal and one assist.
Liverpool boss Arne Slot remains keen to keep the former Fulham youngster on Merseyside – with he and the club still seeing the midfielder as a key part of the side for years to come.
He has made 130 appearances for the Reds since leaving Craven Cottage for Anfield, notching 11 goals and 15 assists.
Elliott can star in central midfield as well as on both flanks and has played regularly in both positions as he continues his development.
