Gabriel Jesus on eight years in the Premier League

Gabriel Jesus is loving life in the Premier League right now.

Our Brazilian forward scooped up the December Player of the Month award after netting five times in seven games in all competitions.

Eight years ago, in January 2017, he moved to England for the first time to join Manchester City at the age of 19.

“It has been a long time since I came to the Premier League,” he said on Friday. “I came here, not as a kid, but very young. Now I'm 27, a father, a husband, so everything changed.

“I think I’ve grown a lot as a man, and then as a professional, as a player, so I'm very happy to join this country, apart from the cold weather sometimes!”

Jesus is of course no stranger to lifting the Premier League title, having done so four times during his spell at Man City.

But he’s always hungry for even more here at Arsenal.

“You can see the motivation because the feeling to win a trophy like the Premier League, everyone knows how tough it is,” he said.

“When you’ve already won it, you just think I want it again, again and again.

“Arsenal did amazing in the past and we want to come back, so we as players, we want to go there and pay back what they have done and to fight for the fans as well.”
