The Gunners are currently lagging behind in the Premier League title race at the moment, and they need to add to their squad to turn the tide.

Arsenal have been linked with plenty of new options already this month.
Arsenal have been linked with a number of strikers, but, interestingly, their first signing of the window could be a new midfielder.
Indeed, Arsenal have been linked with Sverre Nypan recently, and according to Dean Jones, speaking on the Ranks FC Podcast, Arsenal are indeed favourites to sign the young Norwegian.

Arsenal favourites to sign Sverre Nypan
Jones spoke about Nypan’s future and Arsenal’s stance on this transfer.
Nypan has been valued at £10m, and Arsenal are leading the race to sign the youngster.
“Martin Odegaard had already been helping this one move along. So Man United were favourites to sign this kid, who genuinely is a wonder kid. He’s talked about in an Odegaard-type way as a player that’s breaking out in Norway, and he should, if all goes to plan, become a really big player over the next decade.
“So United were expected to actually sign this guy, but I think they’ve had to refocus because of the problems that exist within their squad. Arsenal have always had an eye on it and basically started to take control of the situations. And I’m told that Odegaard has helped to sway things in their direction.
“So it’s interesting that you mentioned him, because yeah, that genuinely has happened. It’s Odegaard perhaps versus Haaland for where this ends up.”
“But yeah, there’s real appetite here to try to figure out quickly where he wants to go. Arsenal definitely in the lead. I’d say the City group are in the mix too.”
“But yeah, word out of Norway has been that Arsenal have been in control of the situation, and it would be a surprise if any other club was to beat him to this move.”
Norway’s golden generation
As Jones says, Nypan should become a top player if everything goes to plan in his career.
Of course, development isn’t linear, and a lot could happen in the future, but if all goes to plan, Norway should have a seriously talented team in a few years’ time.
Indeed, Norway have a ton of exciting talents coming through at the moment and blossoming at the same time.

Every so often, a new team gets a golden generation, Belgium were lucky enough to produce a number of top stars in the 2010s, and now, it appears as though it’s Norway’s turn.
Nypan will be able to cultivate an exciting relationship with Martin Odegaard should he join Arsenal, and that should bode well for the Norwegian national team for years to come.
Keep an eye on Arsenal signing Nypan and keep an eye on Norway making an impact at a major tournament in the coming years.
