The experienced duo are likely top lay key roles over the coming months as Arsenal navigate a hectic period which will define their season.

Partey, in particular, has enjoyed something of a renaissance in recent weeks and has been utilised in midfield and at right-back where he has been forced to fill in as a result of the injuries suffered by Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu.
Jorginho, meanwhile, has been used more sparingly by his manager but he is sure to be utilised in the upcoming domestic cup competitions and his status is reflected by the fact he has warn the captain’s armband several times in recent weeks.
‘That situation is there in the contracts so that is a possibility,’ said Arteta reflecting on the precarious nature of the contract situation regarding Partey and Jorgino.
‘It’s close communication with them to understand what their idea is, what they want to do, express our intentions and then let’s decide for everybody what the best option is, but it’s two players that I am very, very happy with.
