Elsewhere, Chelsea take on top four rivals Manchester City on Sunday, but not before Tottenham take on fellow strugglers Leicester City. Here we round up the predictions from BBC Sport’s Chris Sutton and SportsKeeda’s Paul Merson for those fixtures.
Wolves vs Chelsea
Chris Sutton
“I see Wolves manager Vitor Pereira dug out Matheus Cunha for his body language after Monday's defeat by Chelsea. I am not sure how smart a move that is, considering Cunha has scored almost a third of their 32 Premier League goals this season. Maybe it will work and inspire Cunha - but there is always the risk of losing a player when you criticise him like that.
“Mind you, I am not sure about Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta's attempts to galvanise his players either. The Gunners have been playing Brazilian Samba music during training sessions, external this week, to 'build energy' according to Arteta. He has some wild ideas, including getting pickpockets to steal valuables from his players, external during a squad meal at the start of the season. I dread to think how it would have gone down if, say, Martin O'Neill had started playing any sort of music, Brazilian or otherwise, during training when I was with Celtic.
“I think the minute his back was turned, the players would have been making all sorts of gestures. We would have just found it funny - maybe it is a generational thing. As for the pickpockets? If some of my old team-mates found someone trying to nick their wallets then they might have ended up having a scrap with them. Imagine if that one went wrong!? Still, maybe I am just being an old misery for mocking things like this. Arteta is thinking outside the box and trying something different - if he wins this game, like he did against Dinamo Zagreb on Wednesday, then I guess it has worked.
“Arsenal slipped up badly against Aston Villa last weekend, letting them back in it from 2-0 up, but I don't see them having any problems here. Prediction: 0-2.”
Paul Merson
“I was at Stamford Bridge the other night and Wolves were atrocious against Chelsea. They will get relegated! Wolves' performance in that loss to Chelsea will give so much belief to Leicester City and Ipswich. They were a better team under Gary O'Neil and I strongly believe they are about to lose their best player in Matheus Cunha!
“There is no way the manager picked on Cunha after the game if he thinks the player will stay. He's their only top player and this news will turn a lot of heads. Arsenal are in need of a centre-forward but I doubt they will sign someone new in the January transfer window. You can't get so much in this window anyway though.
“Let's look at it this way, if you have played an extra game, are six points behind Liverpool and are still yet to play them away from home, what are their chances? No point in a panic buy if they have to settle for second place or top four in the end.
“Cunha will not be a panic buy though. He has proven himself in the Premier League and is a good fit at Arsenal because he can play multiple roles in attack. Cunha ticks the box as a good signing, however, he must pick his game up if he joins Arsenal. But I still don't think Mikel Arteta will buy a centre-forward just for the sake of it. Prediction: Wolves 0-3 Arsenal.”
Man City vs Chelsea
Chris Sutton
“Well, so much for City being 'back' after beating Leicester, West Ham and Ipswich recently. What happened against Paris St-Germain was more evidence that they are nowhere near their usual selves.
“The number of signings they are making is maybe an admission from Pep Guardiola of how much needs to change. The pressure is really on City in the Champions League now after Wednesday's defeat in Paris, but they have got some tough games coming up in the Premier League too, starting with this one.
“Saturday is not just a case of Cole Palmer returning to his former club as a potential match-winner, because Chelsea's manager Enzo Maresca is also back on familiar territory. This is a huge game in the race for the top four and it feels like anything could happen. I definitely don't see City keeping Chelsea out, but my gut feeling is still that they will win this. Prediction: 2-1.”
Paul Merson
“I told you last week, you cannot get carried away by Manchester City winning 6-0 against Ipswich. You saw them against PSG, there is nobody who can win the ball back in that midfield! Ipswich were atrocious that is why they lost that game not because City are back to their best form!
“Kevin De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva and Mateo Kovacic are all ageing and it was so evident against PSG. City couldn't live with PSG when they started having a go in that second half. Chelsea can do the same in my opinion. If Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson can run at them, I think they will cause City some serious problems. Pep Guardiola's men may not be able to live with that kind of pace and energy.
“City now face a massive challenge to get into the top four this season. They face Arsenal after this game and all the six fixtures starting with Chelsea on Saturday are crucial. If they lose to Chelsea, you can't expect them to beat Arsenal. It's not looking good for them in the Champions League either after that loss to PSG. If they can't beat Club Brugge at home next week, they shouldn't even be in Europe! This new format is designed to ensure all the big teams progress and they are still struggling in it. Even if you told Celtic you can forget about all the other games and you just need to beat Brugge to go to the next round, they would take it. That just shows where Manchester City are right now! Prediction: Manchester City 1-3 Chelsea.”
