Mikel Arteta’s side are still second in the table despite all the issues they have had this season, but their hopes of winning the Premier League title are hanging by a very thin and fragile thread.
With Gabriel Jesus out for the rest of the season and Bukayo Saka not expected to be back until the end of February, Arsenal are in a spot of bother in attack.
That is why they need a new man up top, and several names have been linked with a move to the Emirates in this window.
Arsenal are ready to bid for Marcus Thuram but there is a problem
Marcus Thuram has been magnificent since joining Inter Milan.
The Frenchman directly contributed to 29 goals in his debut 2023/24 season and helped the Nerazzurri win the Serie A title.
Thuram has directly contributed to 20 goals this season, and his performances have caught the eye of Arsenal manager Arteta.
It has been revealed that Arteta wants him ‘immediately’ and is ready to table a €70 million (£59m) bid to sign the player who has been described as Arsenal’s ‘dream’ target.
But, there is a problem.
The report claims that Inter will ‘never be open to a transfer in this winter window’. Arsenal’s only chance of signing him would be in the summer.
€70 million (£59m) would be sensational for Inter Milan, who signed Thuram on a free transfer just 18 months ago.

Thuram has football in his blood – his dad Lilian won the World Cup with France in 1998.
The Inter Milan star, as a result, has been in the spotlight since his career began, and a number of people watched him play regularly.
