Report: The four strikers Arsenal are actually talking about signing as Mikel Arteta makes transfer decision

One of the biggest talking points surrounding Arsenal is that several fans and pundits agree that they are in desperate need of a world-class striker.

For instance, Paul Merson urged Arsenal to sign a striker after their wastefulnes in front of goal was punished by Newcastle United, who beat them 2-0 in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final.
Kai Havertz has been labelled “average” as he is yet to truly explode into life up front — with discourse around his quality increasing after his high-profile misses against Newcastle as well as Manchester United in the FA Cup.

Despite the Gunners not firing on all cylinders, Mikel Arteta still has a chance of winning his first Premier League title — as his side are reeling seven points behind table-toppers Liverpool — which is a gap that can certainly be bridged with 18 games still left to go.

However, the question is whether Arsenal have enough goals in them as a side this campaign to win the title.

The ideal type of striker Mikel Arteta wants at Arsenal
The worst-case scenario for Arsenal would if if they let another season go by without winning a major trophy.

As a result, several marksmen have been discussed at the Emirates Stadium.

The Independent have revealed that the dream striker for Mikel Arteta is one who is physically imposing and has room to grow as a player.

The report has also mentioned that some figures within the club believe they should have signed such a player last summer.

The likes of Viktor Gyokeres, Randal Kolo Muani, Evan Ferguson and Benjamin Sesko have been internally assessed by Arsenal.

Sesko is considered the ideal profile of number nine by the Gunners.

TBR Football understands that Arsenal are huge admirers of the RB Leipzig hitman.

Arsenal’s question mark about Alexander Isak is that while they rate the Newcastle United technician highly, they are on the hunt for a number nine who is more of a focal point for their attack.

Mikel Arteta loves Isak, however, as he continues to have the season of his life for Newcastle.

Can Arsenal sign either of the four striker transfer targets in January?
A majority of Arsenal fans will be hoping that they can sign any one of Gyokeres, Kolo Muani, Ferguson or Sesko this January.

However, that would be easier said than done.

Arsenal have a growing interest in Gyokeres but Sporting CP are believed to value him at £80 million — a figure the London-based club are only willing to spend in the summer.
