With Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk still not having confirmed potential exits or new deals, nearly three weeks has passed since they have been able to speak to other clubs.
Whilst Real Madrid have been making moves to secure Alexander-Arnold for next season, the noise around that potential exit seems a lot quieter in light of recent updates surrounding the future of Salah and Van Dijk.

According to recent reports by Khaled Al-Shenaif, a pundit for the KSA Sports channel, both Salah and Van Dijk are on the verge of agreeing deals to the Saudi Pro League. Al-Shenaif said “Salah is a 99% Al-Hilal player, while Virgil van Dijk is very close.”
Talks around Salah heading to Saudi Arabia have long been the most dominant rumours surrounding any potential exit he may make, and reports suggesting Van Dijk may be heading with him have gathered steam this past week.
Van Dijk's emotional social posts
Nothing has been confirmed yet of course, and Salah is reportedly keen to extend his stay on Merseyside. Van Dijk has been the least outspoken of the three on his contract situation, and it’s unlikely that would change now.
Van Dijk’s recent Instagram activity gives an insight into his state of mind when taking into consideration these recent links away from Anfield.
He took to Instagram to post two stories. Both black and white shots, the first of him individually and the second an atmospherical aerial shot of the team huddled prior to kick-off.

Is this goodbye?
It could be a sign that Van Dijk is not thinking about anything other than helping to captain the team through what has been a harder spell than many would have thought when the new calendar year began.
This would be a good thing for Reds fans, as it would suggest that Van Dijk is not contemplating signing for another club whilst things remain on a knife-edge at his current side.
However, it is certainly a reminder of the emotional 'farewell' post that Salah shared after he scored against Brighton at Anfield earlier this season.
