The Sweden international has been in impressive form for the Magpies this season and is currently seen by many as the No.1 centre-forward in the Premier League.
Speaking to Swedish media outlet Expressen, Ferdinand was asked what Arsenal have been missing this season after falling behind Liverpool in the league table.
The 58-year-old believes the Gunners are missing a consistent goal scorer and that Isak would be a good fit for them. Ferdinand said with a combination of their defensive record and having a player like the Swede, Arsenal would be picking up the Premier League title.
“If you want a striker right now… Take Isak from Newcastle and put him in Arsenal’s team, I think they will win the league then. Without doubt. Defensively, they are the best in the league. And he scores the goals that he does, but I don’t want to see him go to Arsenal,” said the ex- Tottenham player.
Arsenal’s failure to score enough from open play has been an issue for Mikel Arteta in this campaign, with goals from set pieces also becoming more difficult.
The Spaniard didn’t bring in a proven goalscorer during the last summer window and this now seems to be costing them in the title run in.
Isak has been in stunning form this season, scoring 17 goals in 24 appearances for Newcastle United. The 25-year-old has also performed for his country, netting five times in eight games in 2024.
