Chief among which is how the Gunners plan to rein in runaway Premier League leaders Liverpool. Arne Slot's side are six points clear with a game in hand, and their spectacular early-season form has continued long into the new year.
A full-strength Arsenal may still have given themselves a good chance of cutting the deficit between now and the end of May. But they will be fully aware that, with their current injury issues, the odds are stacked against them as they bid to end their title drought.
Arteta is particularly light in wide areas. Bukayo Saka has been a huge miss on the right flank, and he is still weeks away from returning. Gabriel Jesus will miss the rest of the season and more after tearing his ACL. And Gabriel Martinelli is set to miss at least the next month with a hamstring problem.
Raheem Sterling, Leandro Trossard and Ethan Nwaneri are Arteta's only remaining options. And the manager will be frustrated to note that a player formerly on the books at the Emirates, who was sold a number of years ago, is displaying the kind of form that suggests he would be a major asset to the Gunners.

Alex Iwobi is enjoying a stellar season playing off Fulham's left wing
Alex Iwobi was auctioned off by Arsenal chiefs a matter of months before Arteta's appointment. Senior figures in north London may have been pleased with the £35million fee Everton forked out, given that his spell at Goodison Park was steady but certainly not spectacular.
However, Iwobi is playing the best football of his career at Fulham this campaign. Now 28 years old and featuring primarily off the left wing, the Nigerian international is contributing to goals at a more prolific rate than Sterling, Trossard and Martinelli.
With seven goals and three assists in 27 games, Iwobi is averaging a goal involvement every 2.7 matches. And his versatility has made him a dangerous weapon for Cottagers boss Marco Silva.

Arteta never got the chance to work with Iwobi, and a long while has passed since he moved on to pastures new. But injury-hit times like these must make the Spaniard wish Arsenal had kept hold of their Lagos-born academy product.
Sterling has gone nine games without registering a goal or an assist, while Trossard has gone six without finding the net. Nwaneri, 17, has been prolific when called upon, but Arteta will surely need experience during the title run-in - the kind of experience Silva is ecstatic to have at Craven Cottage.
