The name Bless Akolbire is one now part of the Leicester set up after joining from Arsenal. Akolbire played his first game for Leicester u.18 as early as November, playing in a game vs. Spurs. He then played a new game for Arsenal on the 25th of January, before again being back at Leicester and on the field vs. Reading on the 2nd of February.
So who is Bless Akolbire, following other Arsenal youngsters such as Vontae Daley-Campbell and Amani Richards, who also made the same move, joining Leicester from Arsenal. He is a midfielder, originally joining Arsenal from Colchester. In his three outings for Leicester, he has played in a deep midfield defensive role, seeing both games ending in defeat, so not the best of starts for the youngster.
In an Arseblog report last year, Akolbire was seen as a player a bit on the fringe, as he was yet to be offered a new deal at Arsenal, having had some injury set backs, but as well been seen as a bit special. Will be interesting to follow his progress at Leicester going forward.
Leicester have listed their players in two lists, one senior squad list, with all the names in there, having listed Bilal El Khannouss, Abdul Fatawu and Facundo Bounanotte among the u.21’s.
