The England winger is one of eight players around or over the age of 30 who will be allowed to leave Man City in the summer, The Mirror reports, with Kevin De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva, John Stones, Mateo Kovacic, Ilkay Gundogan, Ederson and Kyle Walker all being invited to leave.
Arsenal handed summer Grealish gift by Man City
Grealish is the highest-profile figure among these stars, and one that Arsenal can profit from signing.
He may not fit into Arteta’s model in terms of his age profile, but the Gunners need an additional attacking midfielder, and if the price is right, the 29-year-old could provide an interesting option to their armoury.
Grealish is well suited to joining Arsenal, according to data analytics firm SciSports. He is given a Club Fit score of 77 for the Emirates side. This is based on a myriad of factors, including potential development, playing time, style and formation.
The Gunners score well across the board, and even if there are concerns over how much game time he might get in north London, the switch would surely be an attractive one for the player given he has yet to feature for a side as historically big as Arteta’s. This will be his last chance.
Grealish: Another spark for Arsenal
Grealish is known as a creative monster. He finished third in big chances created in the 2020/21 season while with Aston Villa and only a lack of game time has seen him tumble down this ranking.
His ability to win fouls around the box would also be an asset to Arsenal, whose acumen from set-pieces has been one of their super-strengths this season.
