CONFIRMED LINE-UP:Sterling dropped, Jorginho and Merino start: 4-2-1-3 Predicted line-up vs West Ham

The Gunners have an important task ahead of them this weekend as they look to take advantage of more dropped points from Liverpool in the race for the Premier League title.

David Raya, William Saliba and Gabriel are bound to start as usual, while Jurien Timber and Myles Lewis-Skelly retain their spots as full-backs.
In midfield though, it might just be better to start Jorginho ahead of Partey for a little more creativity, in a period of the season where Arsenal’s flair in attack has been scarce.

The big decision on Saturday will without a doubt be upfront, where Mikel Merino has to start as the target man. I personally have not been ruing the absence of Kai Havertz as much as others, because just like Merino, he was a makeshift striker.

To be fair, we have lost a midfielder-turned-striker in Havertz and are replacing him with another midfielder-turned-striker in Merino. Additionally, Merino’s finishing looks better than Havertz’s so far, even though it remains to be seen whether he can emulate the German’s link-up play and workrate upfront.

The attacking flanks should be occupied by Trossard and Nwaneri, while Sterling doesn’t even deserve a place on the bench after last week’s shambolic performance.

PREDICTED TEAM

Raya

Timber – Gabriel – Saliba – Lewis-Skelly

Jorginho – Rice

Odegaard

Nwaneri – Merino – Trossard
