From Mohamed Salah to Erling Haaland, Marc Guehi has played against the best of the best, and while Guehi is a great defender, it’s hard to win those battles all the time.
Indeed, Guehi has had some difficult afternoons against those sorts of strikers.
Speaking to Stadium Astro, the Crystal Palace defender has been discussing who the best player he has ever faced is.
Interestingly, despite playing against the likes of Salah, Haaland and a whole host of other stars, according to Guehi, Arsenal’s Gabriel Jesus is the best player he has ever faced.

Gabriel Jesus named as Marc Guehi’s toughest opponent
Guehi spoke about Jesus being the toughest player he’s ever faced.
According to the centre-back, one game sticks out, the opening day of the 2022/23 season, claiming that the £45m man was unplayable on that day.
“Who would you say has been the best player you have faced so far?” Guehi was asked.
“There have been many, many players, I always remember when Jesus first signed for Arsenal, the first game of the season, that first half was the toughest half I have ever had, he was amazing in that half, just for that reason, I would say Jesus,” Guehi said.

Jesus has been criticised this season for his performances at times, but, strangely, he often saves his best showings for Crystal Palace.
Maxence Lacroix named Jesus as his toughest opponent too, and Jesus’ record against Guehi speaks for itself.

Interestingly, Jesus didn’t actually score in the game that Guehi referenced, but he did give the centre-back the runaround at Selhurst Park that day, completing no fewer than six dribbles, while Guehi scored an own goal too.
On his day, Jesus can be unplayable, but, sadly, we’ve not seen that all too often from him over the past 12 months.
Jesus is currently out with an ACL injury, and he’s not going to play again this season.
