The Gunners have potentially already landed a signing for the summer as Martin Zubimendi has agreed a move to Arsenal for the end of the season.
However, in terms of doing any business this month, Arsenal haven’t quite been able to get anything done.
Arsenal bid for Ollie Watkins last week, while Arsenal made an approach for Evan Ferguson too, so they have had intentions of signing a new striker.
However, so far, a new forward hasn’t arrived, but there is still time to get something done.
Speaking on Market Madness, Fabrizio Romano has now shared an update on Arsenal’s search for a new striker late in the day.
Fabrizio Romano shares late Arsenal update
Romano shared what he knows about Arsenal potentially making a late move.
The journalist didn’t say anything was imminent at Arsenal right now, but he said that he’s sure that things are still happening behind the scenes as Arsenal reach out to agents and make a number of calls.
“Look, at the moment there is no guarantee. I’m sure things are still going on behind the scenes because there are many contacts with agents and calls,” Romano said.
“Arsenal are still trying to find the right opportunity, let’s see if they can make it happen. To share something positive for Arsenal fans, in the summer, something important will happen in that position (striker).
“Let’s see what happens last minute today, but the focus in general is on getting something really big in the summer transfer window. Sesko is on the list, Alexander Isak is not going to be easy at Newcastle, but he’s someone they love at Arsenal. I see Arsenal doing something really big in the summer.”
Arsenal’s past deadline day signings
Arsenal aren’t looking likely to do any business as things stand, but, as we all know, anything can happen in the final hours of the transfer window.
Indeed, Arsenal have shown in recent years that deadline day deals can come from out of nowhere.
Arsenal are usually active right at the end of a transfer window, and you can never discount the Gunners having a trick up their sleeve.

Arsenal have made some massive moves on deadline day in the past, and while it currently doesn’t look likely, the Gunners may still be able to pull a rabbit out of the hat here.
The Premier League title is up for grabs for Arsenal, and if there was ever a time to take a risk towards the end of a transfer window, this is it.
