And that does make sense. Arne Slot's squad sits at the top of the Premier League and there's no great need for reinforcements.
Especially reinforcements costing a January premium and who could ultimately upset the squad's balance. Maybe we'd have seen a signing or two if there had been a major outgoing but we saw no such thing.
Liverpool rejected an offer from Al-Hilal for Darwin Nunez, as exclusively revealed by Anfield Watch. Federico Chiesa was linked with a loan move away but he ultimately stayed.
It was a quiet one, then, as Liverpool dealt exclusively with loan moves away. And one of those should be confirmed this morning.
Jayden Danns to Sunderland
Jayden Danns should still join Sunderland on loan for the rest of the season. The expectation is that this will be announced on Tuesday morning, per James Pearce.
Danns' loan move was heavily reported on deadline day and most (including us) assumed it would be confirmed and announced before the window shut. We're all still waiting on it, though.
It's potentially a massive one for the young striker as he looks to establish himself as a senior player. Danns has shone when playing for the first-team but he's yet to get regular senior football.
